About the Research Competition
The NHMA Florida Chapter invited medical students, residents and fellows, and international medical graduates to submit structured abstracts — case reports, original research, reviews, quality improvement and public health projects — for its NHMA Florida Chapter Inaugural Annual Meeting on October 10, 2026. Accepted abstracts were presented at the meeting as posters or oral presentations.
Volunteer physician judges scored the abstracts. Each abstract was reviewed by two judges, blinded to authors and institutions, with conflicts of interest (same institution) excluded. The highest-scoring abstracts overall were presented orally, and best-poster awards were given in each category.
About this collection
Abstracts appear as submitted by their authors, with light formatting only (section headings, punctuation and capitalisation of titles). Authors were required to submit de-identified, HIPAA-compliant abstracts. Abstracts were selected for presentation through the competition's judging process; this collection is a meeting abstract record, not a peer-reviewed journal publication. Presenting at this meeting does not prevent authors from submitting the full work to a journal.
