Research Competition
Abstracts 2026
Abstracts presented by medical students, residents, fellows and international medical graduates at the first annual meeting of the National Hispanic Medical Association Florida Chapter.

To every presenter: thank you
On October 10, 2026, the NHMA Florida Chapter gathered physicians, trainees and students at the University of Miami for its inaugural annual meeting. The afternoon belonged to you: posters and oral presentations — case reports, original research, quality improvement and public health projects — shared with colleagues, mentors and judges.
Each of these abstracts reflects hours of work on top of demanding training schedules, and many tell the story of a patient whose care taught us something. Your work speaks to our mission: mentorship, education and advocacy for Hispanic communities and the clinicians who serve them.
Congratulations to all presenters and their co-authors and mentors, and a special recognition to our oral presenters and best-poster award recipients. We are proud to publish your work here so it can keep being read and cited.
